DIVING SERVICES POSITIONS

Division: TETRA Offshore Services
Location: Belle Chasse, LA
Description: EPIC Diving Services is currently recruiting for the positions listed below:

Commercial Diver Grades I and II
Commercial Dive Supervisors
Saturation Technicians

Requirements for all positions:

  • Must be able to work 24-hour callout schedule and reliably report to work on time
  • Complete required HR and Safety training
  • Comply with Drug and Alcohol testing requirements; including post-offer testing
  • Complete any required examinations to met the physical demands of the job
  • Live and work offshore, work long, strenuous hours exposed to the elements, (hot, humid conditions with temperature extremes
  • Conduct or assist with Hazard Hunts and Safety Inspections
  • Comply with all Company, Division and Business Unit policies and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.
  • IMCA certification preferred.

Commercial Diver Grades I and II

  • Minimum five years experience as a Commercial Diver
  • Certification from an accredited Dive School
  • Perform assigned tasks, both underwater and topside, in a safe and efficient manner under the direction of the Diving Supervisor.
  • Read, understand and comply with Epic's procedures as they relate to his qualifications or performance while engaging in diving operations.
  • Act as standby diver when directed to do so. While acting as a standby diver, the diver shall:
    • Be dressed equal to or greater thermally, and sufficiently to allow immediate entry into the water, and to stay at the applicable depth as long as circumstances require.
    • Participate in JHEA’s.
    • Remain at his station throughout the entire dive and in-water decompression.
    • Monitor the dive radio to constantly remain abreast of events of the dive.
    • Not be assigned any tasks that might interfere with his duties as standby diver while there is a diver in the water.
  • Act as a chamber operator as required by the diving supervisor.
  • Comply with regulations or instructions concerning the use, maintenance, repair and testing of all diving equipment provided for the operation.
  • Assist in the set-up, maintenance, and repair of all diving equipment on the job.
  • Posses own helmet, as well as any other peronal diving gear, and assure that all certifications are current/up-to-date.

Commercial Saturation Supervisor

  • Knowledge of emergency and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of proper operation and use of all equipment related to air diving, including decompression chamber
  • Knowledge of air/gas/saturation diving procedures and techniques including JHEA’s
  • Must show discretion, good judgment, organizational or management ability, initiative, and the ability to work independently
  • Be fully cognizant of all relevant governmental regulatory agency regulations that apply to the diving operation and the diving mode employed
  • Ensure that all rules and regulations are followed for each dive
  • Ensure safe diving operations are carried out from a suitable and safe location on the surface
  • Always be immediately available to implement emergency procedures
  • Develop, modify or produce pre and post dive checklists for each operation
  • Develop and implement emergency/contingency procedures
  • Establish a dive plan ensuring that sufficient breathing mixtures, supplies and proper equipment are available for safe and timely completion of job task
  • Personally evaluate that all personnel in the dive team are qualified and physically able to perform tasks assigned
  • Assign the duties of all members of the dive team and personally direct them throughout the dive operation
  • Maintain a depth, bottom time and breathing mix profile at the dive location for each diver during the dive
  • Ensure that each diver is continuously tended while in the water

Saturation Technician

  • Knowledge of saturation diving equipment
  • Must be capable of conducting operations in a safe and efficient manner of diving equipment
  • Knowledge of emergency and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of proper operation and use of all equipment related to air diving, including decompression chamber
    Knowledge of air/gas/saturation diving procedures and techniques including JHEA’s
  • Must show discretion, good judgment, organizational or management ability, initiative, and the ability to work independently
  • Possess strong mechanical skills and be able to repair and maintain HVAC systems
  • Possess a complete understanding of the operation and repair of A/C and D/C voltage equipment and hydraulic equipment
  • Able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical schematics.
  • Possess strong communication skills / both written and verbal
